WDC WD40PURZ-xxGVNYx

WDC WD40PURZ-xxGVNYx was a hard drive model created by Western Digital. Binned for DVR/NVR surveillance use, it was a 4 TB 3.5" CMR hard drive, based on 1 TB platters. This model was succeeded by the WDC WD40PURZ-xxTTDYx, which uses 1.33 TB platters in order to reduce the platter count from four to three. Similar units from other manufacturers included the ST4000VX000-1F4168, TOSHIBA MD04ABA400V and its retail rebrand, TOSHIBA HDWT140.
