Hitachi HDS721050CLA362

From Computing Classics Wiki

Hitachi HDS721050CLA362 was a hard drive model created by Hitachi. Part of the Deskstar 7K1000.C family, it succeeds the previous 7K1000.B family models Hitachi HDT721050SLA380 and Hitachi HDT721050SLA360, upgrading to 500 GB platters and enabling slimming down to a single platter. Unlike its predecessors, only the 16 MB cache model was offered with no corresponding 8 MB cache option as there was on the 7K1000.B, mirroring the approach taken by other makers' 7,200 RPM 500 GB single platter models such as the WD5000AAKS single platter models, as well as the SAMSUNG HD502HJ and ST3500418AS.[1] It was succeeded by the Hitachi HDS721050CLA662, which upgraded to SATA 3.0.
