MS-7525
From Computing Classics Wiki
The MS-7525 (codenamed Boston) is an OEM motherboard created for Compaq by MSI. It was seen used in various PC models throughout the late 2000s. The board was designed for use with Windows Vista, with an Aero-compatible graphics chip, SATA support and relatively modern (for the time) I/O.
Compatibility[edit | edit source]
Due to the Intel ICH7 having support for an emulated IDE chipset, the board is compatible with various Windows versions. Drivers for the board exist from Windows 2000 through to roughly Windows 8. Linux support varies by distro, though given standard hardware on the board the majority of distros support it well. macOS can run through the use of a bootloader such as OpenCore, though the GMA 3100 is not supported.
