WDC WD1500HLFS-xxG6Ux
From Computing Classics Wiki
WDC WD1500HLFS-xxG6Ux was a hard drive model created by Western Digital. It is the first of the VelociRaptor family, succeeding the Raptor by downsizing to 2.5" and instead using an IcePack mounting frame to ensure they are treated as 3.5" drives by end users. As such, all WD1500HLFS-xxG6Ux drives were delivered with this IcePack frame; unmounting the drive from the frame would void the warranty.[1] Spec-wise, it is a 10,000 RPM 2.5" hard drive that requires a 12 V rail, as opposed to mainstream 2.5" that only require 5 V.[1]
