WDC WD5000AZRX-xxA8LBx

WDC WD5000AZRX-xxA8LBx was a hard drive model created by Western Digital. Part of the Western Digital Caviar Green family and later simply Green, and the Trails platform, it is a 500 GB 3.5" 5,400 RPM hard drive. It is a single head version of the WDC WD10EZRX-xxA8LBx. It succeeds the WD5000AADS-xxL4Bx and WDC WD5000AADS-xxS9Bx, upgrading cache from 32 to 64 MB, the SATA version from 2.6 to 3.0, and platter density from 500 GB to 1 TB. It competed with Hitachi HDS5C1050DLE630, and later TOSHIBA DT01ABA050. It was discontinued in 2014, replaced with the WDC WD5000AZRX-xxL4HBx which is a minor revision which upgrades the command set and PCB.
