WDC WD2500JS-xxNCBx
From Computing Classics Wiki
WDC WD2500JS-xxNCBx was a hard drive model created by Western Digital. As a Caviar SE drive, it had an enhanced 8 MB of cache, and also sported a secondary Molex power port, a courtesy common of many drives at the time. Compared to the SATA 1.0 models WDC WD2500JD-xxFYBx/WDC WD2500JD-xxGBBx/WDC WD2500JD-xxHBBx/WDC WD2500JD-xxHBCx, the WD2500JS-xxNCBx, like all other WD2500JS models, is based on the newer Marvell platform Hawk, rather than the older Caviar platform Eagle that is used on the WD2500JD models, or the Starling platform used for Marvell-based PATA models. This model was revised into WDC WD2500JS-xxTGBx, and properly succeeded by the increased density Raider platform model WDC WD2500JS-xxPDBx.
