This is a list of Western Digital customer codes. A Western Digital customer code is the first two digits of the identifier, for example, -75Z10T0, where the "75" indicates a drive intended for Dell. Many customer coded hard drives will add additional details to the label requested by customers of that drive; sometimes, extra SMART parameters are added as well (most of these are tracked by all units, but hidden in firmware; some customers un-hide the given attributes).

List of customer codes

Code Customer/Purpose Changes (versus standard units) Example image
00 Standard (mainstream)
08 Lenovo Adds Lenovo-specific numbering, including FRU, PN, and extra details such as LBA, FW version and spindle speed. SMART attributes unhidden are unpredictable and depend entirely on the model of drive.
11 Internal Use Changes label to a white colour, regardless of the original drive's (on newer drives with new logo). Adds "Not For Resale" (old logo)/"NOT FOR RESALE" (new logo) to label for many.

40 Apple Adds an Apple logo to a part of the drive. On newer drives (for example, WDC WD10EZES-xxUFAAx), turns the label entirely black and white.
55 A/V class Not actually used on AV hard drives; usually used with early Caviar SE.
59 Internal Use Changes label to a white colour, regardless of the original drive's. Adds "NOT FOR RESALE" to label. Generally used interchangeably with the 11 customer code, and can only appear on the new logo.
60 HP Adds HP-specific details such as CT, PN, as well as firmware version. Unhides B8 End-to-End Error, BB Reported Uncorrectable Errors, BD High Fly Writes and BE Airflow Temperature, but may or may not hide C2 Temperature.

68 Standard (NAS/Red)
75 Dell Adds Dell-specific numbering, such as a Dell serial number and DP/N. Adds QR code. Adds interface (omitted on 2.5" drives), capacity, spindle speed and firmware version (actually last two characters of ID code) in a box similar to drives produced by Toshiba and Seagate for Dell.
