ST8000DM004-2CX188 was a hard drive model created by Seagate. It is a 8 TB 3.5" SMR hard drive from the BarraCuda series, and is both the highest capacity BarraCuda (non-Pro) model, as well as tying for the highest capacity V11 family members, along with the ST8000AS0003-2HH188. As opposed to 20.2 mm V11 models, the ST8000DM004-2CX188 has a different lid design, is louder and vibrates more, despite the same spindle speed as lower capacities. This model was succeeded by the ST8000DM004-2U9188, which features a more rounded ATA IDENTIFY spindle speed reported number of 5,400 RPM, as opposed to the precise 5,425 RPM figure reported by the -2CX188.
