This family succeeds the MN04 and MN06 (except 10 TB) models, upgrading the platter capacity to 1.6 TB (except for the 512n version, which uses 1.33 TB platters). History
The MN08-D series traces its roots to the earlier Toshiba MG08-D series, which was announced in 2020 and released in 2021.[2] This family is based on binned drives from that line. The 4 TB MN08ADA400E released first, around the same time as the MG08-D family's first models, while the 6 and 8 TB models launched later. This family replaces the previous Toshiba MN04 family, as well as the 6 and 8 TB models of the Toshiba MN06 family.
