Toshiba MG09 is a hard drive family created by Toshiba. It is an extension of the Toshiba MG09 family, stretching to 20 TB at the cost of utilising host managed shingled magnetic recording. Compared to the MG09 family, the MA09 family has more limited documentation. It is Toshiba's first host managed SMR family, and distantly succeeds the earlier Toshiba MA04, which was only used in external drives.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Although the MA09 family is not the first MA family overall (the MA04 family was the first), the MA09 family was the first to be publicly documented, intended for enterprise and uses host managed SMR.
- The MA09 family includes the second fewest number of models of Toshiba's enterprise families, after the Toshiba MG05ACA with only one model, not counting its subfamilies.
