SAMSUNG SP1614C was a hard drive model created by Samsung. It was a 160 GB model based on two 80 GB platters, and was the first SATA 160 GB model. It mechanically is identical to the SAMSUNG SP1654N, except it makes use of an onboard PATA to SATA bridge chip to provide the SATA interface. As a result, it cannot support NCQ and only has SATA-150 MB/s transfer rates. This model was succeeded by the SAMSUNG HD160JJ, which uses a native SATA MCU that can support SATA-300 and NCQ.
