Toshiba MA04 is a hard drive family created by Toshiba. It is a 5,400 RPM, 8 TB hard drive family, and is very uncommon in real life, mostly being shipped in Marshal external hard drives. Very little concrete information is available, other than its spindle speed, capacity and 128 MiB cache. Some retailers advertise members of this family as being SMR, which is supported as it was built in an era where 1.33 TB platters were mostly possible only by using SMR (such as the ST8000AS0002-1NA17Z). This family, nevertheless, contains Toshiba's first 8 TB hard drive, using six platters. This family was replaced with the Toshiba MG05ACA family, which did see official releases to the general public and was openly documented.

Trivia
- This family was Toshiba's first 8 TB hard drive family. It is based on the same platform (Tomcat-R) as the TOSHIBA MG04ACA600E and similar models, which also contain 6 platters.
