WD50NDZM-xxPW8Sx is a hard drive model created by Western Digital. It is a 5 TB 2.5" thick SMR drive. Part of WD's Internal Use drives meant for the company's external 2.5" drives, it incorporates a USB-C interface, rather than USB 3.0 micro-B, as well as self-encryption. It is based on the WDC WD50NPZZ-xxA9JTx, part of the same family but with a SATA interface.
Similar units from other manufacturers include the ST5000LM000. Toshiba do not make a 5 TB 2.5" drive, because their 15 mm HDA can only accommodate 4 platters.
